New "Teach Truth" Website & Study Guide: TeachTruthBook.com Supports the Fight for Honest Education
Launched on the 5th Annual Teach Truth National Day of Action
I’m excited to announce the launch of a new website — TeachTruthBook.com — where you can access the new free study guide for my book, Teach Truth: The Struggle for Antiracist Education, along with additional resources, articles, and updates on upcoming events. These new tools for the struggle arrive as we celebrate the 5th Annual Teach Truth National Day of Action, a powerful reminder that defending the truth in education is one of the most urgent acts of resistance in our time.
We are living through a dangerous moment. Across the country, classroom censorship laws are being passed that target educators for teaching about racism, sexism, and the history of resistance movements. In Teach Truth, I name these policies Truthcrime laws — because they criminalize the act of telling the truth in the classroom.
At the same time, we’re seeing the rise of what I call Uncritical Race Theory — a sanitized, state-approved version of history that erases systemic injustice and trains students to accept inequality as normal.
Teach Truth is my call to defy this coordinated attack on education. But it’s not enough to read — we have to organize. That’s why I created a study guide to accompany the book and help spark collective discussion and action.
📖 The Teach Truth Study Guide Offers:
A brief summary for each chapter
Discussion questions that foster critical thinking and collective reflection
Action items that connect ideas in the book to real-world organizing
Further reading and multimedia resources to deepen understanding
Information about the annual Teach Truth National Day of Action
A glossary for terms found in the book
This guide is for educators, students, families, union members, and community organizers alike. Use it in study groups, classrooms, libraries, and movement spaces to foster honest conversations about history — and to organize for justice.
I’m honored that the book has received such powerful endorsements:
Please visit TeachTruthBook.com to download the study guide, organize a reading group, and explore new ways to join the movement.
On this 5th Annual Teach Truth National Day of Action, let’s recommit to building a world where every student has the right to learn the truth — and to imagine something better because of it.
